Thanksgiving happens to be my MOST favorite holiday. It’s not about dressing up, parades, or gifts; it’s JUST about family coming together and eating good food!

For the past 12 years my family has been making the trek to my home for a delicious Thanksgiving feast, and then staying the night. So often we focus on the big holiday, many times overlook hosting overnight guests and the morning after, more importantly, THE COFFEE. This year I decided to create a fun holiday coffee bar, perfect for my out of town guests.

Coffee The Morning After Thanksgiving

Before having kids, I would sometimes be the last to wake up the morning after Thanksgiving, which is a kind of tacky when you are hosting overnight guests. Everyone would be eagerly sitting around the kitchen table waiting for me to brew a big batch of coffee, while I slumbered away.

Since coffee is the best way to bring each other together in the morning, this year, I needed to invest in a programmable coffee maker that would have the coffee hot and ready for the guests as they woke up, even if I was asleep. I thought it would be fun to create a cute little coffee bar and pumpkin pie coffee recipe that everyone could enjoy whether or not I was awake.

Coffee Maker That Does It All

Luckily, it didnt take me long to find the coffee maker that does it all! While cruising the aisles at Target, I stumbled upon the Mr. Coffee-12-cup® Programmable Coffeemaker with Dishwashable Design. It has so many amazing features, perfect for hosting out of town guests the morning after a holiday.

Did you know that Mr. Coffee® 12 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Dishwashable Design is America’s #1 coffee maker brand and has the highest levels of brand awareness? It features a dishwashable design that is easy to take apart and reassemble.

The brew now, brew later feature lets you set the coffee maker to brew exactly when you want it to! I can program it to go off first thing in the morning for the early birds like Uncle Jim and Grandma Shirley, and it will keep it nice and warm for cousin Brian and Janet who wake up later in the morning.

I also love the grab-a-cup auto-pause feature. If I’m busy putting dishes away from the night before, I can set the coffee to brew, and can pause it. That way I can take a few swigs before the coffee is done brewing, genius!

Thanksgiving and dishes go together like peanut butter and jelly. After countless rounds of dishes from the night before, the last thing I want to do is hand wash the coffee maker. The Mr Coffee® Programmable Coffeemaker is so EASY to clean. You can actually disassemble all of the parts and place them right in the dishwasher. The bitter coffe residue is thoroughly cleaned and removed to ensure a better tasting cup of coffee, yum!

  • 4-hour automatic shut off
  • Automatic clean cycle
  • Advanced water filtration

Caution!!! Your holiday guests will be so blown away by all the amazing functions of Mr. Coffee® 12 Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Dishwashable Design, and the cute holiday coffee bar that you setup, that they will probably ask you for one for the holidays. This coffee maker is a great idea, as it’s something your guests can use everyday! Click on the picture below to shop for this coffee maker right now.

Creating The Perfect Holiday Coffee Bar

I wanted to wow my guests the morning after the holidays by putting together a cute DIY coffee bar with a holiday inspired coffee recipe to go along with it.

Simply setup the coffee maker in an area where your overnight guests will congregate in the morning. I displayed a little sideboard in our family room, and set the coffee maker up, then programmed it to brew at 6 a.m.

Use a letterboard and create a fun saying on it, or use some other Thanksgiving decor that you already have. I wrote out simply “Thankful For Coffee.”

Set out several mugs and any non-perishable coffee bar items right on your coffee bar. Direct your guests to head to the fridge for any cold ingredients they may need from your recipe card.

Dairy Free Coffee Recipe

Since most of my guests are dairy free, I wanted to create a special treat that everyone could enjoy. I decided to create a little menu next to the coffee bar suggesting how to make a chocolate chip pumpkin pie coffee.

The coconut cream on top is the perfect treat, and your guests can add as much chocolate chips or pumpkin pie spice as they would like. Stir it all together and you have a delicious treat sure to wow your guests.
